About Us
Dubomedy is built around the idea that comedy is for everyone.
What started as a small push to create space for stand-up and improv in the UAE has grown into a platform for live shows, education, and creative collaboration across the region.

Comedy in different forms, for different people.
Dubomedy produces live comedy experiences, trains new performers, and develops original projects that explore comedy beyond the stage. The focus is always on quality, access, and building a real community around the work.
We care about the room, the audience, and the moment. Everything else comes second.
The Community
Built with people, not just performers.
Dubomedy has grown through its community of students, comedians, collaborators, and audiences. Over the years, it has supported new voices, encouraged experimentation, and created spaces where people from different backgrounds can share a room and laugh together.
Comedy works best when it feels welcoming. That principle runs through everything we do.
Our Founders
Dubomedy was founded by comedians Mina Liccione and Ali Al Sayed, who continue to shape its creative direction.
Both founders are active performers and educators, bringing years of stage experience into how shows are produced, how courses are taught, and how collaborations are approached. Their shared goal has always been simple: create space for people to try, grow, and get better at comedy.
Ali Al Sayed
CEO & Founder
The trail-blazing comedian Ali Al Sayed is a leading name in the UAE’s entertainment sector. His long list of television credits includes current co-host of Comedy Central Presents on OSN, former host for MBC Action, and comedy correspondent for Abu Dhabi TV’s ‘The Beautiful Game’. As well as being the co-founder and co-director of Dubomedy Arts School, Ali is CEO of Viva Arts event management company and a comedy coach for Comedy Central Arabia. As a comedian, Ali has performed across the globe, participating in major festivals such as the Edinburgh Fringe and the Montreux Comedy Festival. Whether headlining at Caroline’s on Broadway in New York or performing during a power outage in South Africa, Ali establishes an easy rapport with audiences using his lightning fast wit and affable manner.
Mina Liccione
Artistic Director & Founder
What do you get if you put together a trapeze artiste, a Broadway dancer, an award-winning comedian and MC, and a performing arts professor? Mina Liccione! Mina is the grand dame of comedy in the UAE. She brought her larger-than-life personality and incredible talents and experience gained as a professional performer and educator in America to Dubai in 2007 with one aim – to get the Middle East laughing, and she has never looked back. Through co-founding Dubomedy Arts School with Ali Al Sayed in 2008, she has inspired thousands of people to take up comedy. She has also taken comedy to new audiences around the region. As a comedian and MC, Mina captivates audiences with her boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm. A life-long performer, she has made numerous television and film appearances and can regularly be seen on Comedy Central Arabia.
Comedy with a wider reach
Alongside shows and training, Dubomedy has been involved in outreach initiatives that use comedy and performing arts as tools for engagement, confidence-building, and connection. These efforts extend beyond traditional venues and into schools, community spaces, and special programs.
Where We Are Now…

Today, Dubomedy continues to produce live shows, offer comedy training, and collaborate on creative projects across the region. The platform evolves with its community, responding to new ideas, new formats, and new voices.
